ABOUT ABOUT

South Mountain CrossFit and Funk Brewing Company present:

50km Row to Cure Multiple Sclerosis

CrossFit athletes love a challenge!

They also love to raise money for a great cause!

And they also tend to love beer!

We have just the fundraiser just for you!

Grab two of your best gym buddies and bring your 3-person team on out to Funk Brewing Company to take on this 50km Rowing Challenge. There will be freebies, beverages, grub, and a whole lot of fun to be had. All proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society via the BikeMS: Bike to the Bay (DE) event taking place mid-October.

Here are the key details:

If you can't join us, but you can still help us out. Please go to our TEAM PAGE and click "Donate to Our Team"

Here's how the event will work:

  • Teams will be made up of THREE (3) members - any male/female mix will do.
  • Each team will be assigned a Concept2 Rower compliments of South Mountain CrossFit.
  • Each rower will be programmed for a 50km countdown.
  • At 3...2...1... GO! teams will begin rowing.
  • Team members can rotate through at any interval they choose, but every member must row at least once.
  • At the completion of 50km, the organizers will record the time from the rower's computer.
  • Teams will be ranked according to their recorded completion time... mostly for bragging rights... but there may be some fun stuff for the fastest team.

Take a minute to review the FAQs below for additional information or if you can't make it and still want to donate.

Background:

Three-plus years ago, a handful of avid cyclists and craft beer/mead/wine enthusiasts came together to form Team Booze Clues. Each of us was involved in the alcohol industry in one way or another. A couple were business owners, others were homebrewers, and others were friends who had a passion for craft beverages and cycling.

Besides our industry affiliations, we were all united by the fact that we had friends and/or family members who suffered from multiple sclerosis (MS). You can learn more about what MS is HERE. Interestingly, each of us had been involved with the BikeMS events for several years. So, it was exciting to bring our professional and personal passions together for a good cause.

Over the past three years, Team Booze Clues has raised nearly $15,000 for the National MS Society.

Our team has ridden the BikeMS: City to Shore in 2016 and the BikeMS: Bike to the Bay (DE) in 2017. We will be riding the Delaware event again this year. We ride 150 miles over two days regardless of the weather. The rides are always a challenge but they are always fun!

Our team is sponsored by several of the regional Lehigh Valley breweries, along with our lead sponsors The Colony Meadery and LOGIC, Inc. We'd like to thank all of our sponsors and donors who have supported us over the past few years.

Team Booze Clues would especially like to thank South Mountain CrossFit and Funk Brewing Company for coming together to help us throw this fundraising event together. We certainly could not have done it without their help!
